060: Day 73, June 20, 2021. Casper to Dubois WY: 195 miles by vehicle today and 2740 in total.

Today started with a late sleep. We could only pick up the U-Haul rental truck at 1:30pm and Louise wanted to leave at about noon.
We went for a breakfast bagel and coffee at the Metro Coffee Shop and I saw this lovely sculpture of a boy with his three puppies, Best friends times three.
This made me think of how Jesus also loves us. I saw this drawing on Facebook and it is so clear, He left the 99 sheep in the pen and came looking for the lost one. We should also have such love for all our neighbors, irrespective of their beliefs and convictions.
Christine and I have not been to the movies for a long time and I was tempted when we walked past the rialto in Casper, reclining chairs for $4 a show.
As we left Casper the wind just kept on blowing stronger. We were glad to have decided on skipping this about 200 miles.
This Winnebago is older than most of us.
We saw another couple of 307 First sculptures
along the road.
We may have made a mistake in defining these hills as the Tetons.
The wind just became stronger and stronger during the afternoon.
These clouds were also the warning that there was rain coming.
We saw these waves on the Boysen Reservoir.
We saw the  Rockies in the distance close to Dubois.
Here the rain really threatened.
We drove past these red sandstones
 and the purple rock layers
before we came to Dubois, a quaint town next to the Wind River.
We noted that the Jackalope migrated from Douglas. 🤣🤣🤣
There are some beautiful sculptures in town, this Elk and
this Moose.
We slept at the Wind River Motel where we had
our takeaway dinner on the deck overlooking the Wind River.
You can see Christine is worried. We have the Rockies ahead of us and we learnt that there is a habituated mother brown bear and her two cubs along the road. Anyway, we planned and prayed about these worries. God will provide.

  1. Wow! What a good idea! We will be praying that you guys and Mama Bear don't have an encounter. That theater had to be tempting... $4 seats, and luxury recliners at that! Who cares what's showing, great place for a nap! We love you guys! Stay safe, Jim
