021: D28 Centerburg to Westerville OH:26 miles today and 837 in total (m239.2)

Today was a beautiful day and, like Dan advised last night, mostly downhill. Soon after leaving his farm we came across this obelisk marking the high point on the Heart of Ohio Trail.
Soon we passed Centerburg.
And we still enjoyed the scenery.
Soon after Centerburg we had to go on the road to Sunbury - you can see the unfinished trail across the road, but even here we cycled comfortably.
And the surrounding land became flatter than the first couple of days in Ohio.
We soon reached Sunbury and found a great place on the town square,
District 13. The melted cheese sandwich with a mac&cheese side and the chocolate lava fountain were all great. This is a place to remember for a revisit.
From Sunbury we followed the Sandel Legacy Trail for a couple of miles.
We cycled past Galena's brick road.
We crossed a bridge over one if the Hoover Reservoir inlets. Fishing is good here.
The foundation of the abandoned water tower for the Galena station was converted into this picnic spot in the woods.
A view of the upper reaches of the Hoover Reservoir.
We knew that the wonderful ride in the woods had to end as we came closer and closer to the built-up areas north of Columbus.
But the path is still in great shape following an old rail embankment behind shops and stores.
Just before the Westerville Depot we found this mural.
Soon thereafter we reached our hotel, the Aloft Westerville.
And soon thereafter we had a wonderful time visiting Wim and Elsabe Fourie and their daughter Mignon. We loved the pap, wors, lamb chops and tomato and onion sauce for the pap. Thanks a lot, guys, for the great evening (and the goody bag!) and we shall visit again.
We did about 26 miles today and shall cycle through the urban area of Columbus tomorrow.
